Easter Day

Happy Easter all! The hubby, Madeline, and I went to my parent's house for the weekend to see some family who came in from out of town. On the way there we stopped at Walmart and picked up these pretty tulips for my mom.

At Grandma's house Madeline colored Easter eggs for the first time. She thought it was pretty cool.

She decorated some with stickers and these little shrink-wrap decorations.

On Easter morning we hid some candy-filled eggs around the living room and Madeline got an Easter basket and a bag from Grandpa and Grandma with some goodies and toys as well.

Madeline's basket full of eggs.

Finding a few more.

Her booty.

Checking out the cool ball she got from Grandma and Grandpa. (Please forgive the way her hair looks, morning bedhead.) Hope you had a fun Easter too!

Madeline Skating Video

I just had to post this short video to the blog. This is Madeline skating for the first time...

Skater Girl

Today we went skating with our playgroup at a roller rink that has a "Tot Skate" for 2-5 year olds. I was worried that Madeline would be a complete chicken but I was pleasantly surprised that she put the skates right on and went for it with no fear!

This is right after she put the skates on. She was getting around like a pro on the carpet.

The smooth roller rink floor was a little harder (notice the wall holding) but she still did great. She had a couple falls on her bottom but nothing major. I held her hand a majority of the time but she would say "No Mama, I'll do it myself". What a trooper!

Madeline with her friend Alyssa waiting for the snack.

And Madeline loves any type of game so of course she had to check out the games at the roller rink.

Ahhh, done. She was so excited about skating and can't wait to go back.

Pre-Easter Fun!

In this post I have a couple different days of Easter activities that we've done lately. The first few are from our Easter Craft Playdate with our playgroup. We made Easter stick puppets and an Easter plate craft which we made either a bunny or chick.

The girls chit chatting.

One evening recently we went to Lukas' house for an Easter egg hunt and playdate. It was cold and rainy outside so we had to do the hunt in the living room. It was still fun though!

Lukas showing off his loot.

The kids seeing what they got. Getting ready to open the eggs.

Lots of eggs!

Madeline and Lukas on their "date". Ha ha! At one point Lukas leaned over and gave Maddie a kiss on the cheek. Her response was staring straight ahead at the tv. Good girl!

The next day we went to a botanical garden for another Easter egg hunt that we have gone to for two years in the past. Again, it was pretty cold so didn't stay out long.

Happy girl with all of her eggs.

Once inside we did some pot painting.

Mads loves any craft and literally took like 20 minutes perfecting her pot.

Pretty flowers inside.

Posing by the flowers.

Pretty girl.

Checking out the fairy houses.

Best Friends...

Today we got together for a playdate and lunch with a couple of Madeline's best girl friends Alyssa and Jenna.

These girls have so much fun together. They've known each other since before they were a year old and they are now three.

They love each other so much that they give each other lots of hugs when they get together. When we were ordering our lunch I looked over and the three of them were having a big ol' group hug. I wish I could have captured that one on film.

We had a super fun time today with our friends! Thanks ladies!

A Saturday Full of Parties!

This past Saturday Madeline had a busy busy day with two birthday parties to attend. The first one was at our local children's farmstead for her friend Lukas' 3rd birthday party. It was in the morning so we got there before alot of the general public arrived and checked out the animals, rode a pony, and rode the peddle tractors.

Eating yummy cupcakes.

Madeline posing as a butterfly.

And walking on the alphabet stepping stones.

This is always Madeline's favorite part of the farm - bottle feeding the baby goats.
And this was a first for Maddie, riding a pony!

Peddling the tractor.

Me and my girl!

The birthday boy with Mads.

Lukas was fishing so Madeline wanted to check out the nightcrawlers used as bait. She thought they were cool. This girl is a tomboy!

After Lukas' party we headed over to the cousin's house for their birthday. They had a combined birthday for all three of them since not everyone could attend their separate parties.

Ava recently turned 4.

She was showing Maddie her cool party hats.

Abram's birthday was right around the corner and he turns 2.

Hey Aunt Michelle, what ya doing???

It was a busy day but Mads had a blast playing all day long!
