Branson Vacation 2011

The past 5 years or so my mom, aunt, and I have taken a short trip down to Branson, Missouri each summer. The last three summers Madeline has joined us and then last year my mother-in-law and another aunt also came along. This year I had two aunts, my mom, and Madeline on the trip. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed shopping, eating, and visiting the Titanic exhibit.

My aunt Susie loves to check out the old fashioned five and dime store in the old downtown Branson area. It's packed full of just everything. Madeline loves this store too! She even got to ride the horsey out front.

One store I look forward to every year is the Christmas store at the Grand Village Shops shopping area. This place has three big rooms just packed from floor to ceiling with Christmas decorations and orniments. I pick out a couple new orniments every year.

This is one of the rooms in the Christmas store. I love how each of the trees is decorated by theme (Santas, snowmen, kids orniments, animals, etc).

Madeline thought this big rocking chair was pretty cool.

Madeline's face says it all...this is how she feels about shopping all day with mom...

Looking happier here (fake smile)...

Cute!

She was having fun just running around and dancing.

She even found some fun little rides at one of the outlet malls.

Yee haw!

My cute girl!

This old car ride is neat. I got a photo of her last year on the same car. It's neat to see how much she's changed in a year.

The highlight of the trip for Maddie was going to Build a Bear. It was her first time getting to build a stuffed animal there. She picked a cute black and white doggie. She named it Fluffy. In the photo above she was helping the lady at the store put the heart in her puppy. She had Madeline first rub the heart on her nose so the puppy would know Madeline's smell, then she rubbed it on her ear so the puppy would listen to Madeline, then she gave it a kiss to fill the puppy's heart with lots of love. Then she put it inside the puppy and sewed the puppy up with all of it's stuffing inside.

After the puppy was all filled up Madeline had to give it a wash....

...then she got it dressed and we made out a birth certificate for it.

Madeline was so excited about her new puppy!

She gave it lots of hugs.

There was also this cool train at Branson Landing for the kiddies to ride.

Unfortunately the conductor was on lunch break so Madeline didn't get to ride it but we still got a couple photos.

We're hoping to take Madeline to Silver Dollar City next year when we go down. We would also like to try miniature golf! Can't wait!
