Apple Picking at Red Barn Farm

This past weekend we went to the Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO for some apple picking. Low and behold they already had TONS of pumpkins out! The kids had so much fun checking out the pumpkins.

It's hard to believe that my little girl will be four years old in December!

This is an interesting one...they had pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and colors.

Maddie really liked the mini pumpkins (she likes everthing that is teeny tiny, just like herself).

Mommy, I found one.

There were animals at the farm too: sheep, goats, ponies, chickens, and even a turkey. We even got to take a horse drawn wagon ride through the woods. So fun!

Our friends Ewa and Lukas with Madeline.

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Friday night Mads and I went to the circus. This was Maddie's 3rd year going to the Barnium & Bailey Circus. We always enjoy going.

Before the show started they had the stars from the show down on the floor meeting the kids. Madeline got a photo with one of the show girls. So pretty.

Here's one of the opening acts of the show. They did a big parade thing at the beginning then again at the end.

Of course Madeline's favorite act is usually the elephants.

There were several big elephants and two babies with the show.

Another shot of the show.

Trying to get Madeline to pose by the sign. How hard is it to look at the camera???

Checking out the uber-expensive toys...only $30 for the elephant....crazy!

Finally, a smile for the camera!

Omaha Trip Part 2

During our trip to Omaha this past weekend along with our trip to the zoo we checked out the Children's Museum and the Old Market district.

The Children's Museum was really cool. There was a little playhouse, a market, a fire station/truck, an art room and a science room.

There was this neat foam puzzle for toddlers.

Madeline checking out at the market.

Grandma helped Madeline build a huge lego tower.

And she loved the Light Piano. She wouldn't even let me play!

This pic was taken in a candy store in the Old Market area....

This cool antique popcorn truck was in it too.

And an old fashioned soda fountain.

Madeline and I rocking our cool shades!

This was one of our favorite shops in the Old Market.

Tons of neat stuff in here...

I really loved these frogs playing insturments but the hubby would have killed me if I brought them home...only $150 each!!! Yikes!

I loved the stars too!

Madeline checking out the stuff outside while eating her sucker.

Mom picked out a couple dragonflies for her garden.

We even found a Jelly Belly bus! They were letting people test some new Jelly Belly flavors.

Our favorite restaurant from our trip was Spaghetti Works.

Here we are eating our dinner. It was such a kid friendly place. And not too expensive either but great food (and lots of it!).

Outside they had an old phone booth. I felt like I was in a Beatles video....

We saw some really interesting cars too...this one even had incense burning on it...

A close-up of the front.

We are so glad we took our trip to Omaha. What a neat town to visit! We're hoping to get back there again some day!

Labor Day Weekend Trip to Omaha Zoo

Over Labor Day weekend this year my mom, Aunt Roxie, Madeline, and I took a short trip to Omaha to visit the zoo. We've been meaning to get there for a couple years now - it was totally worth the trip. Omaha is a gem of a town. We spent a full 6 hours at the zoo on Saturday, went to the Omaha Children's Museum and spent some time in the Old Market district where they have restaurants, stores, etc.

Here are a few pics from the zoo portion of our trip...

They had several really cool birds just hanging out in the open.

Lots of cool statues to climb on.

Cool giraffe.

We took the sky tram ride and Madeline loved it!
